Toshiba L5200U

The ; has good all-around performance for the price, with relatively good black levels and shadow detail and minimal uniformity issues.

Color accuracy is a problem, with occasional greenish midtones. The backlight can fluctuate slightly between light and dark material. Unlike some TVs at this price level, there's no 3D or Smart TV.

The bare-bones Toshiba L5200 series offers respectable value for the money with fine picture quality for an edge-lit LED TV.

Toshiba's L5200U HDTV line offers nice-looking LED-backlit screens that deliver solid color quality and a sharp HD picture, but come up short on contrast ratio and features.

Great Value for Price! Image is great, low energy cost, decent sound for flat screen, 3 HDMI hook ups and one AV. Fiber Optic sound hookup. USB port. PC hook up. Love the image when watching HD movies, or playing HD games.

No WI-Fi and slow to power up. You have to turn clear rate off in order to get rid of soap opera effect and distortion when watching live action movies, but once off problem is solved.

Quality Product

By the time UPS had dropped the TV off the box had been opened, and chunks of Styrofoam had fallen out. Luckily the TV worked beautifully.

No Network Connectivity?

If you have structured cabling in your home, this would be a great TV. But I have a room addition on my home without preinstalled cable. The wireless is a must. Very disappointing.

I have a 42" version of this unit for over a year now and am looking at this 40" for a new sun room. The display of my 42" is gorgeous and we've had absolutely no major issues and expect the same from this unit. The upgrade in speakers won't hurt...

As mentioned before, on my 42" the speakers were horrible, but see they've upgraded them on this unit. The major issue is the lack of network connection. No wireless or wired network on this TV. I thought that was what all the humorous ads were about
