The holy grail of toasters!

 

I admit, I'm a little obsessed with finding the perfect toaster. But I didn't think it would be that hard to make a good toaster.. but the last few years the toaster (in the $50 range) all failed both in terms of dependability and control.

Check for done-ness during toasting w/o resetting timer! Fast

Expensive. Could be a wee bit wider in slots (bagels just fit.)
