Brother PDS-6000 High-Speed Color Desktop Scanner

The Brother PDS-6000 is a fast, reasonably accurate sheet-feed document scanner with a top-notch user interface, but its slightly slower PDS-5000 sibling is essentially the same machine for a lot less moolah.

Huge, 100-sheet ADF. Fast scanning and saving to image PDF. Robust, easy-to-use scanning utility. Low learning curve for end users. Terrific support for big batch scanning.

Pricey. No document or business-card archiving software. OCR somewhat below average at default resolution.

Fast scanners like the PDS-6000 are ideal for these settings. However, the problem we see with the PDS-6000 is that it's not fast enough to warrant the huge price difference between it and the PDS-5000, which is essentially the same scanner minus some...
