Sonys nya DVD-inspelare har fått en extra finess, den kan även ta emot digitala sändningar. Dock inte i Sverige då spelaren hanterar det engelska digital TV-systemet.

GOOD ALL-ROUNDER.

A good player, with future-proof compatibility standard. Easy to use, although menu systems feel a little slow.

Freeview and analogue tuners are great. Integration of EPG with recording is helpful, and simple to use. Multi-format compatibility means my old DVD player (now in kid's room) will play back the stuff I record.

The fan is quite noisy, and can be slightly off-putting when watching films. I've noticed some pixelation occurring on sports programmes I've recorded, but that could be put down to my freeview reception. No SACD capability.
