Cluttered, bloatware-ridden software ; Not the fastest for the money ; No lower storage options

Xiaomi has imbued its flagship Redmi phone with a welcome dose of class, with an improved design and an even better display. Rapid charging and a strong main camera make a welcome return, but so does the company’s sub-optimal software.

Unimpressive battery life.

Still, the Redmi Note 13 Pro+ is an excellent all-round smartphone with an impressive specs sheet and an incredibly competitive price. This is the phone you should consider if your budget is about €450; there are no two questions about that.

Lovely design. Large AMOLED display. Smooth performance. Solid battery life. Fast charging. IP68 waterproof rating. Generous 512 GB of storage.

No wireless charging. Xiaomi’s MIUI software is not great. Loads of bloatware. Camera is a mixed bag. Not sold in the US.

The Note 13 Pro+ has superb hardware that wouldn’t look out of place on a phone costing twice the price. However, the lack of great cameras and a patchy software experience will be dealbreakers for many people.
