If you do make sure your computer has a IEEE-1394 port It will make down louds alot easyer

easy to work. just point and shoot

don't spen your money on vedio connecters for easy down louds to computer

Not Durable!

had a decent picture quality and battery life for one day... next day it was all over, the camcorder went off. Purchasing this from dell ensured prompt return of money. Thanks Dell!

Just the basics

Unless you are committed to digital cassettes, and the clarity of the video - prices on hard drive recorders are falling rapidly. IMHO the ease of transferring hard drive files far outweighs any advantages of MiniDV.

Got it for affordable home use only. Video quality is ok. Does everything JVC says it is supposed to do. Once familiar with the LCD joystick, controls are intuitive. Get the larger battery and a tripod and tape away.

If buying again, I would go with its more robust brother, the 870, with many more features and accessories for only a few dollars more. This recorder is bare of frills to keep the price down. Don't get me wrong, it works. Just remember, if you have an...
