It's a functional dock..

If you get a power supply for it :(

if all you need is video and usb passthru, this does the trick for half the cost of a full docking station. I use these at work for our model x220 and x230 thinkpads. they line up perfectly and are easy to latch in/out.

for the part number I order, it does not come with an ac adapter - not a biggie, you can them for under 10 bucks. it also does not replicate speaker/mic ports, which is irritating and seems like a simple thing for the manufacturer to include.

Those that complain that it doesn't work with a W530 should have looked further into it. They require a 170 Watt PSU to be plugged into the dock. Also it needs to be the Ultra Dock. This works great with the T series.

No power brick included... I noticed this after I set one up, I can't really knock it though it didn't have one in the picture or description. No DVI out...again I need to pay attention to descriptions and pictures better.
