Fantastic pictures in good, natural light ; Impressive manual options

Poor low-light performance

All of the good work that the GZ-MG36 does is let down by the low-light performance

Huge storage capacity, small and light, innovative laser touch operation

Average video performance in good lighting, poor low light performance

Great handling, LCD screen mounted joystick control is a plus, widescreen recording is a good feature (although not "real" 16:9) and good connectivity via USB 2.0 with PCs and Macs via supplied software application bundle. 32x zoom also a nice touch.

Images from single 1/6th inch CCD aren't that good in lower light or with fast moving objects in frame. Can't see why 800x digital zoom is included as a feature, though.

Compared to several recent single CCD MiniDV camcorders, the GZ--MG36 produces very reasonable images and sound for the spec and price. However, its single CCD could let it down in some situations. Great for casual-use home video newbies, all the same.

impossible to use indoors and at night due to image quality

Very easy to use A and compact. Not affected by humidity which is an problem I have always found with "tape" type camcorders in the past.

It'a very easy to use and light weight. Although i haven't used it a lot yet, I intend to use it more in the very near future. But I find i tvery good.
